The Best Bald Movies
Its a sunny day in my neck of the woods, but anyone who lives in the Pacific Northwest knows that sunny days do not last long around here. A rainy day will appear sooner rather than later. Which is why I am going to start planning a film festival featuring great movies that star or feature baldies. You could really have a lot of fun with this, if you invited a few friends over and served “bald” treats, and gave away awards. But I will let your imaginations run wild. For now, I will just offer a few selections for your viewing pleasure.
- Being John Malkovich - One of my most favorite movies. The scene where John Malkovich enters the portal to his own brain, and enters a world made up entirely of John Malkovich’s kills me. Its genius. This movie would headline my festival.
- Iron Man - ok granted it was just released into the theatre a few weeks ago, so you may have to wait a while for a legitimate dvd release. But it is hands down the best superhero movie I have ever seen. Jeff Bridges rocks the bald look. Ever wonder why the best villains are always bald. If you know the answer to this let me know.
- The Magnificent Seven - I have not seen this movie, but it is a remake from one of the best movies I have ever seen (The Seven Samurai)- actually watch the Seven Samurai while you are at it. T.M.S has Yul Brynner and he is a very famous baldy. Its on my list to watch, anyway.
- Speaking of Yul Brynner you may want to see The King and I. Many reasons to watch this film- the costumes, the music and dancing, and of course watching Yul Brynner acting like a spoiled brat.
- Powder - fantastic and out of the world experience with Sean Patrick Flanery and Jeff Goldblum.
- Annie - you must have known this movie was going to make the list. How could I leave off Daddy Warbucks. Introduce your favorite 7 year old to the world of Little Orphan Annie.
