Gail Porter Talks About New TV Show
The Sunday Mirror has an exclusive with Ms. Porter about her recent experience filming So You Think You Can Nurse, a new reality show/documentary that put Gail in a real hospital. Here are a few snippits.
THE first thing I noticed was how understaffed the wards were. There was a distinct lack of beds and each member of the team was overworked to make up for a lack of resources.
In the programme viewers will see me break down in tears as I was faced with bed-bathing an elderly stroke victim…. When he looked at me, he looked like he had so much to say and he was so sad. He couldn’t speak, so he couldn’t say how he felt. I just hoped he wasn’t angry, but I didn’t want to leave him lying in his own mess.
Nursing is harder work than you could ever imagine. It isn’t just a job for them. It’s their life. They choose a life in which they do nothing but help others.
So You Think You Can Nurse Airs this Wednesday, 31 January, in the UK on Channel Five.
