Gail Porter proved she is happy to face the bald facts of life as she went shopping with a friend in London’s Notting Hill. Her companion, Michelle Chapman, also has alopecia, the condition responsible for Gail’s hair loss.

Rather than covering up with wigs, Gail revealed in a BBC TV documentary last week that she is gradually coming to terms with her lack of hair. “I’m determined not to become a victim. I think of the hairdressing bills I’m saving…” she said.
