Baldness Detection Critical to Successful Transplant Surgery
That’s the argument put forth by Drs. Bernstein and Rassman of Bernstein Medical in the latest issue of the journal Hair Transplant Forum. The journal is published by The International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), and the lead article this time around is “Densitometry and Video-microscopy.”
In the article the doctors argue that a close, clinical examination of a patients scalp has many benefits:
- Better identification of good surgery candidates
- Better forecasting of future hair loss patterns
- Better understanding of the patients hair characteristics
- Better planning of donor and recipient areas
This should be a no-brainer if you are considering hair transplant surgery. Make sure your surgeon takes a real close look at your scalp.
