Bald Man of the Week: Zinedine Zidane

Zinedien Zidane was named Man of the Match in Saturday’s World Cup showdown between France and Brazil. His masterful performance saw Les Blues overcome the odds and send the holders home. Thierry Henry scored the games only goal when Zizou found him open at the back post on a restart. Looks like the old man still has life left in him after all as he once again proves to be a thorn in the Samba-side.

ZZ — pure class. He’s got to be added to the list of greats (Pele, Eusebio, Maradona, Cruyff etc.)
On the other hand the Brazilian baldy, Ronaldo, looks like he might just fall shy of that greatness.

I’ll disagree: Ronaldo will be have a lasting place in World Cup lore. For the victories and the losses; for the record haul of total goals and the mystery ahead of the France ‘98 final.

I suspect there are only two people in the world who know, and Materazzi sure as hell isn’t spilling the beans. I got the sense that something was under Zizou’s skin from the outset. The cheeky penalty and subdued, defiant celebration… Zizou seemed to have an axe to grind from the opening whistle. Where was his smile? […]
