Bald Blogs #5: Not Just About Cancer
Today I’d like to introduce you to Laurie from Canada. She is “39 years old with two kids and breast cancer,” and she is chronicling her treatment at Not Just About Cancer.
Here is a sampling from this past May:
Now, I am bald and bloated. Surgery and chemo have taken their toll on my body. But if I look carefully, I can still see the beauty there. I have a nicely shaped head. There is still a sparkle in my eyes and warmth in my smile. I still have my dimple and the laugh lines around my eyes.
I may never enjoy dancing naked in front of our full length mirror (one of [her son] D.’s favourite pastimes). D. has taught me, however, that I have a choice in how I see myself. I am still me. I am still beautiful.
Now it seems that Laurie is being asked to edit her posts into a blook. Pretty cool!

It’s great to see the optimism in you. You are an inspiration for all the people who are suffering from such chronic diseases.
