Alopecia Walkmania
I came across this at Sign On San Diego: Alopecia walkmania:
First named in The Journal of the American Medical Association in 1984, alopecia walkmania is loss of hair from prolonged use of personal stereo headphones. Technological improvements like ear buds (tiny headphones that hang from the ears) have no doubt reduced rates of this ailment.

Given the upturn is fancier, bigger noice-reduction headphones, I suspect alopecia walkmania to make a comeback.
Ear buds are SO 2003.
