I was looking thru my stats, and noticed that searches for Gail Porter are bringing quite a few of you my little piece of the web. As they say, “The Customer is Always Right,” so I think I better keep track of Ms. Porter. Wandering thru my sources, I came across The Alopecia Scotland website. From their home page:

Alopecia Help and Advice (Scotland) is a locally based charity setting out to help people suffering from Alopecia Areata. It was set up by the mothers of two girls with Alopecia Areata who live in Grangemouth and Edinburgh.

The connection to Ms. Porter? Well she’s from Edinburgh, and her openness is a big boost to the organization. Rosemary Gierthy, chairwoman of Skin Care Campaign Scotland, says this:

“It is good when someone in the public eye is willing to say they have alopecia. Gail Porter has been absolutely fabulous. But there are still a lot of people who don’t know what alopecia is, which I understand - I didn’t even know how to spell it when my daughter got it. But that’s what we’d like to change.” (From Scotsman.com)
