A Night With the Samurai
One of my most favorite events in my hometown started over the weekend. Its The Return of… Samurai! film festival at Pacific Cinematheque theatre. You may ask yourself what do samurai’s have to do with baldness. Well have you ever watched a samurai film? Other than Toshiro Mifune, and the young romantic lead - none of the other samurai actors have hair (we are strictly speaking of the men). Is there another smattering of baldies in a historical period? Other than monks (either catholic of buddhists).
I can’t think of another group that is portrayed in the movies to be bald like the samurai. Feel free to contradict me, if I am wrong - and I usually am.
Anyway, I am excited about the festival, and will be attending the screening of Samurai Rebellion. I can’t wait!!!
